Former Trump ambassador and Republican Senate candidate touts her past support for gender ideology group Pride
Republican Jeff Gunter, a dermatologist, US Senate candidate in Nevada and former ambassador to Iceland during the Trump administration, is touting his past support for a Pride group known for promoting radical gender ideology and attacking law enforcement as part of his support for the Black Lives Matter Movement (BLM).
According to Gunter’s campaign website, he lists as “successes” his participation in the 2019 Reykjavik Pride Parade, an $11,000 grant awarded by the US government to the Reykjavik Pride organization that same year “to promote equal rights.” , and said it “demonstrated America’s commitment to LGBTI+ rights during the Reykjavik Pride 2020 event.”
Reykjavik Pride’s history with radical gender ideology includes what a local Icelandic media outlet reported was the group’s planning lectures on transphobia and LGBTQ schoolchildren as part of its Pride 2020 celebration, as well as that the president of the organization boasted of marching dressed as a woman during that year’s demonstration. parade and inspire a friend’s son to cross-dress.

When contacted for comment, Gunter told Fox News Digital that his participation in the Reykjavik Pride events was within his capacity as a US ambassador, which was in support of former President Donald Trump’s “campaign to decriminalize homosexuality around the world and oppose brutal regimes. like Iran, which continue to criminalize gays.
“Obviously, marching in a gay pride parade is not an endorsement of anything and everything anyone might be saying or doing in parades around the world,” Gunter said.
“To clarify, I never gave money to the organization, in fact, it was authorized before I arrived. Additionally, I refused to give them money in 2020 and gave it to an advocacy group to support disabled people. I also say officially “I asked the Icelandic ambassador to the United States to remove the BLM endorsement from the official Icelandic government website,” he added.

When asked if the Icelandic government complied with the request, a spokesman for Gunter said no.
Gunter also attacked fellow Republican Sam Brown, one of his opponents in the Nevada GOP Senate primary, whom he called “Scam Brown.”
Brown is “more in line with Iran than Donald Trump on this issue,” he added. “It’s just one of the many reasons why he refuses to endorse Donald Trump for 2024 and barely says his name.”
“I am proud of my work supporting Trump’s agenda abroad. And I support Donald Trump 110% in 2024,” he added.
