Will your iPhone accept Apple’s new AI features? Here’s which ones will — and won’t

Only a sole tier of iPhone users will have access to Apple’s latest, artificially intelligent operating system.

The tech company unveiled iOS 18 on Monday, along with its ChatGPT-powered AI component called Apple Intelligence.

Releasing in the fall, Apple Intelligence will work as a generative image and emoji maker and an enhanced writing tool.

It will also feature a “richer language understanding” version of the virtual assistant Siri, among other user-ease facets.

However, only advanced and more current iPhones will be compatible with Apple Intelligence, according to the company.

Only the latest iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which run on A17 chips, are compatible mobile devices.

The model begins at $999.

A limited number of Apple products can use the company’s new AI. Apple

Apple Intelligence can also work on iPad Pro and iPad Air devices with chips of M1 or later generations.

As for computers, the Macbook Air with an M1 or later, MacBook with a ProM1 or later, iMac with an M1 or later, and Mac mini with an M1 or later will work with Apple Intelligence.

The Mac Studio with an M1 Max or later and the Mac Pro with an M2 Ultra will also function with the update.
