NYC teen, 15, in custody for allegedly fatally shooting man near Bronx courthouse

A 15-year-old boy is in police custody after cops allegedly witnessed him gun down a man near a Bronx courthouse in broad daylight Wednesday.

Officers from the 44th Precinct were patrolling near East 161st Street and Morris Avenue around 2:40 p.m. when they saw the teenager allegedly draw a gun and fire off multiple shots at a 29-year-old man, police said.

The man was shot once in the chest, while the teen fled, according to cops.

EMS rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

The officers who watched the shooting unfold chased after the baby-faced gunman and caught him several blocks away at East 156th Street and Courtlandt Avenue, where they took him into custody.

Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene.

Charges were pending against the teenager as of late Wednesday night.

Police are investigating if the deadly gunfire was gang-related, sources said.
