NYC man fatally shot on Bronx subway

A 45-year-old man was shot dead on a Bronx subway early Friday, with police looking for three suspects who fled the train.

The unidentified straphanger was shot in the torso while riding the southbound D train as it pulled into the 182 -183 St. station at 5:02 a.m., the NYPD said.

Photos showed first responders attempting life-saving measures on the man on the side of the platform as the train was kept at the station.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

Three suspects were seen fleeing the train, the NYPD said, with sources saying they are thought to have had a verbal dispute with him before the shooting.

The three are still being sought and no arrests have been made, police said.

B and D trains were forced to bypass the station in both directions while cops investigated, the MTA said, with commuters advised to instead use Bx1 or Bx2 buses.
