Nikki Haley explains why she, not Trump, should be the Republican nominee

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley made the case during the third Republican presidential debate in Miami on Wednesday why she should be the GOP presidential nominee and not former President Donald Trump.

Haley made the comments while standing near center stage as the second-highest polling candidate in the debate and third overall behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who was center stage, and behind Trump , who has refused to participate in the debates.

“Well, I think if you look at the fact that we have almost $34 trillion in debt, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, 50% of American families can’t afford diapers, “one in six American families can’t pay their utility bills,” Haley began. “There are parents who are worried about what their children are said or taught in the classroom. There is no transparency. “We have anti-Semitism on all of our college campuses and students feel unsafe.”

Haley also mentioned how President Joe Biden’s open southern border has allowed terrorists to enter the United States and how his weakness in foreign policy has sparked wars around the world.

“Everyone wants to talk about President Trump. Well, I can talk about President Trump, I can tell you that I think he was the right president at the right time,” he said. “I don’t think he’s the right president now. I think he put us 8 billion dollars in debt and our children will never forgive us for that. I think the fact that he used to be right about Ukraine and foreign affairs, now he’s getting weak in the knees and trying to be friendly again. I think we have to get back to the fact that we can’t live in the past. We cannot live off other headlines.”

She said America needs to get back to doing what made the country great in the first place, and that’s what she’s focused on.

“Let’s make sure we pay our debt,” he said. “I think we need an accountant in the White House. Let’s make sure there is transparency in the classroom. As a mom, I know what that means. Let’s make sure we secure our borders so our families are safe. Let’s reduce crime because our families want to know they can be safe no matter where they go. And as the wife of a combat veteran, I will tell you that our military needs to know that we have their back and we need to make sure America is safe.”
