Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s Relationship Timeline

1994

Kyle was 23 years old and Mauricio 24 when the pair met at West Hollywood hotspot Bar One. The future reality star was engaged at the time but soon split from her fiancé to start seeing Mauricio. He proposed to Kyle in 1994 over dinner at Shutters restaurant in Santa Monica.

“I was just so happy and excited—it was a dream for me,” Kyle told The Knot in 2021. “The moment we started dating, I just felt like he was the one.“

1996

Kyle and Mauricio married on January 20. By then she was already pregnant with the couple’s first child. “The wedding was originally going to be, I believe, in April, and then we moved it up to January so my dress would still fit because I was pregnant,” she told The Knot.

The couple welcomed daughter Alexia, on June 18, 1996. They would go on to have two more daughters. Sophia, arrived on January 18, 2000, and Portia, was born on March 1, 2008. Mau also took on an active stepfather role to Kyle’s eldest daughter, Farrah, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.

2010

The viewing public got to know Kyle and Mauricio when the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered on October 14, 2010, on Bravo. As of 2024, the former child star remains the only original cast member still on the reality series.

2011

Growing their fortune! Mauricio made a power move by starting his own global boutique real estate firm, The Agency, after previously working as a high-end realtor for Hilton and Hyland.

2021

Still so in love! Kyle gushed about how Mauricio still made her heart pound in an Instagram post celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.

“Our family is our greatest accomplishment,” she wrote. “I still get happy when I hear your car pull in the driveway and still get sad if we have to spend a night apart. How is that even possible?? May we continue to grow, learn, explore, experience and create incredible memories side by side. I love you forever.”

June 2023

Fans began to speculate there was trouble in Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage. She had started spending a significant amount of time with her close friend, country singer Morgan Wade, and stopped wearing her wedding ring.

Kyle didn’t share her annual adoring anniversary post in January of that year, and on Father’s Day, she didn’t gush over her husband as she had in the past. Instead, Kyle shared a photo of Mau with their daughters, writing in the caption, “So grateful that our girls have such an incredible Dad.”

July 2023

Kyle and Mauricio confirmed their marriage woes one day after divorce reports surfaced on July 3.

“In regards to the news that came out about us today … Any claims regarding divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously,” they wrote in a joint statement on Kyle’s Instagram page.

It continued, “There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.” Kyle and Mauricio then thanked fans for their love and support.

September 2023

While entering a Dancing With the Stars rehearsal on September 29, Mauricio said he had “no doubt” Kyle “has not slept or cheated with” Morgan. “They are really great friends … They’re doing things together. They are not in a relationship.”

However, when the RHOBH season trailer dropped that month, Mauricio told his wife in a joking voice, “I’m just glad it’s you out there having an affair,” while Kyle snapped back, “For once it’s me.”

In a later scene, the pair sat with their three daughters for a family meeting where Kyle told them, “We’re a strong family and we always will be … always will be, nothing can change that,” as all three girls burst into tears.

October 2023

Mauricio confirmed their separation while intimating he and Kyle weren’t giving up on their marriage.

“We’ve been married for 27 years. We’re having a bit of a rough patch,” he told People. “She and I currently are separated, but we are not throwing in the towel.”

March 2024

Mauricio shared his belief that Kyle and Morgan’s relationship had not moved past friendship.

There’s a lot of rumors that are going around that Kyle is sleeping around with Morgan,” he said during an episode of Buying Beverly Hills. “I gotta tell you. I don’t believe she’s got anything going on with Morgan. Maybe I’m the only dumbs–t that doesn’t. But I don’t believe she has anything going on with Morgan. I don’t believe it.”

May 2024

Kyle finally confirmed what news outlets reported in July 2023, that she and Mauricio were not living under the same roof.

“I’m a mom of four, I have a busy household. I’ve got six dogs right now. I’m used to having a lot of chaos and stuff going around at my house,” she explained on the “Bitch Bible” podcast. “The day that he moved out was just strange because I came home and I was like, ‘Everything’s so quiet.’”

November 2024

A sneak preview for RHOBH season 14 dropped one day before the November 19, 2024, premiere, where Kyle mused about her life since her split from Mauricio.

“What has changed in my life since last year?” she asked in a confessional. “Oh my gosh, so much. Mau moved out about a week or two ago. Alexia [Umansky] also moved out. Having both of them move out back to back was very difficult, to say the least.”
