‘Hitler was duly elected’: Hillary Clinton fears the end is near if Trump wins again
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that a second term for former President Donald Trump, who beat her in 2016 to win his first, “would be the end of our country as we know it.”
Clinton made an appearance on ABC’s midday talk show “The View,” where she warned that it was possible Trump would win again and then try to stay in power by suspending future elections, adding, “Hitler was duly elected.”

The conversation began with co-host Sunny Hostin, who asked Clinton to weigh in on what she thought would happen if Trump won the Republican nomination and then the presidency in 2024.
“I think Trump’s loss in 2016 will go down in history as one of the most pivotal moments in our country. One of the most transcendental moments of our country. And I think he’s still reeling from Trump’s policies and the deep divisions he sowed in this country. So what would happen to him, in his opinion, if he were re-elected? —Hostin asked.
“Oh, I can’t even, I can’t even think about that because I think that would be the end of our country as we know it. And I don’t say that lightly,” Clinton responded.
“You know, I hated losing, and I especially hated losing to him because I had seen so many warning signs during the campaign,” he continued, stating that he had “immediately” called on people to give Trump “a chance.” ”Once the elections went in his favor.
Clinton, who spent much of Trump’s first term claiming that he had “stolen” the election from her, suggested that the former president would open a second term by suspending future elections.
“The remains are almost unimaginable. You know, when he was Secretary of State, he used to talk about one and done. And what I meant by that is that people would be elected legitimately and then they would try to kill the elections, kill the opposition and kill the free press,” he explained. “And you could see it in countries where, well, Hitler was duly elected! (That’s right. Right.) And then all of a sudden, someone with those tendencies, authoritarian dictatorial tendencies, would say, ‘Oh, okay, let’s shut this down.’ We’re going to put these people in jail.’”

“They didn’t normally telegraph that. “Trump is telling us what he plans to do!” she concluded. “Take him at his word. “The man intends to imprison those who disagree with him, shut down legitimate media outlets, and do what he can to literally undermine the rule of law and the values of our country.”
