The woman who Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham said he needed protection from after she harassed his family was served his temporary restraining order, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, a LAPD Detective assisting on the case informed the court that Lindsey’s alleged stalker, a 52-year-old woman named Michelle, had been served by a deputy on December 2.
Michelle was served at an address in San Leandro, California, which is about a five-hour drive from Los Angeles where Lindsey and his family live.
As In Touch first reported, Lindsey, 75, was granted a temporary restraining order against Michelle after accusing her of causing him and his family distress.
The court ordered Michelle to stay 100 yards away from the musician, his wife Kristen and his son William Buckingham. A hearing is scheduled for later this month where a judge will determine whether to make the restraining order permanent.
In his filing, Lindsey said the alleged harassment started in 2021. He said Michelle obtained his wife’s cell phone number and started calling it dozens of times a day.
He said Michelle would leave “long drawn-out” messages claiming to be Lindsey’s daughter. Lindsey said Michelle also left threats to kill him and his family.
The musician said, “She also blamed me for facial deformities she apparently suffered as a child and demanded money.” He added, “I do not know [Michelle] and I am not her father.” Lindsey said the police got involved in the matter. Officers instructed the woman to stop contacting the musician in 2022.
Lindsey said he believed the situation was over when the messages stopped. However, he said he recently learned that Michelle had been contacting William since 2021 and he had no idea. Lindsey said his son had been getting calls but was ignoring them.
He said he didn’t tell Lindsey about the calls until Michelle showed up again in 2024. The first incident this year happened when Lindsey and his wife received a picture collage on their mailbox of photos of Lindsey’s face with Michelle’s face. Lindsey said Michelle showed up at one of his L.A. homes on September 19.
The police pulled her over after she left the scene and told her not to come back. Lindsey said things got worse on November 3.
The musician said he was awoken out of his sleep by “nearly a dozen” police officers. “When I answered the door, I was handcuffed and asked to step outside of my house. The reason given was that a 911 call had been received stating that my son William was in my house and [wanting to harm himself] and that the caller had heard gunshots,” he said.
“After 20 minutes of the police searching my house and me outside in the cold handcuffed, I was let back into my house, shaken and fearful,” Lindsey added.
Lindsey said the police realized the call was fake and uncuffed him.
Lindsey told the court, “I now know that the 911 call was traced to [Michelle’s] phone and was the latest in an unabated pattern of harassment and threatening acts against my family and me.” Kristen filed her own declaration pleading for protection against Michelle.
The rockstar and his family will be able to make their case for a long-term order at the hearing later this month.
