15-year-old is accused of first-degree murder in Huron

SIOUX FALLS, S.D (KELO) — Beadle County State’s Attorney Michael Moore says a 15-year-old is accused of first-degree murder in last week’s homicide of 41-year-old Nichole Klich of Huron.

Moore did not release the name of the suspect, whose case is in juvenile court.

Moore, whose office is prosecuting the case, says Klich was fatally shot the morning of May 9 in Huron.

Per Moore, the suspect is in the Beadle County Juvenile Detention Center; the case’s next date is a status hearing on June 4.

A friend of Klich’s tells KELOLAND News her late friend went by “Nikki.” The friend describes the late Huron woman as a funny and honest person who was a “dedicated” parent.
