WHAT…For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Total
snow accumulations of 5 to 11 inches. Winds gusting as high as
35 mph on Friday afternoon and Friday night. For the Blizzard
Warning, blizzard conditions expected. Winds gusting as high as
50 mph Friday afternoon and night. For the Wind Chill Warning,
dangerously cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 50
below zero.
* WHERE…Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, northeast
Nebraska and southeast South Dakota.
* WHEN…For the Winter Storm Warning, until 10 AM CST Friday.
For the Blizzard Warning, from 10 AM Friday to 6 AM CST
Saturday. For the Wind Chill Warning, from 6 PM Friday to noon
CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty
winds could bring down tree branches. The dangerously cold
wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little
as 10 minutes.
