Jamie Foxx slowly unveiled the details behind his 2023 hospitalization after suffering a brain bleed and stroke. However, the comedian had no problem sharing that his youngest daughter, Anelise Bishop, was the “miracle” that helped him successfully overcome his health battle.

Anelise is musically inclined like her Grammy-winning father with an interest in a particular instrument.
“My 11-year-old now knows how to play the piano so well, she actually plays my songs while I sing to them,” Jamie told Entertainment Tonight in 2020. “She said, ‘I am going on tour with you.’ I am blessed, we are all blessed.”
Anelise also shines on the basketball court and football field, where she even goes head-to-head with the boys, which Jamie loves to share during interviews.
“When she got on the football field, at first they didn’t want to throw it to her. But I said, ‘Anelise when you’re out, do like this,’” Jamie told Kelly Rippa and Ryan Seacrest in November 2018. “She waved her hands and they threw it to her, and she hit for like a 60-yarder. It was crazy.”

While disclosing what led to his 2023 “medical complication” for the first time, Jamie praised his daughters for having his back during the troubling time.
After being mistreated for head pain, Jamie’s sister Deidra Dixon made him go to a different doctor to get a second look at the issue. After learning that he suffered a brain bleed and stroke, the second doctor told Deidra, “If I don’t go into his head right now, we’re gonna lose him,” he recalled in his December 2024 Netflix comedy special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was.
Recovery wasn’t smooth sailing for Jamie after surgery and he admitted he didn’t want Anelise to see him in a weak condition.
“She snuck into my hospital room with her guitar and she says, ‘I know what my daddy needs,’” the Strays star said, calling Anelise his “miracle.”

The Halloween-themed party was massive, with a slew of celebrities in attendance. In addition to her beats playing throughout the venue, rapper Sexyy Red and Chief Keef took the stage.
