Vivek Ramaswamy’s brave plan to respond to Trump’s ballot removal
The Colorado Supreme Court has taken an unprecedented and potentially nation-changing action.
The court on Tuesday removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 presidential ticket after ruling that he participated in an insurrection with his actions on January 6, 2021.
The justices cited Section Three of the 14th Amendment as their reasoning.
Vivek Ramaswamy doesn’t accept it.
“They just attempted to exclude President Trump from the Colorado election using an unconstitutional maneuver that is a bastardization of the 14th Amendment to our United States Constitution,” Ramaswamy said.
“This was a Section Three provision that was designed to prevent Confederate members, people who switched to the Confederacy, from serving. That is very different from what is at stake here,” he continued.
He called the measure “a hollow shell of what the country was built on” before removing his own name from the Colorado Republican Party’s primary ballot until Trump’s name is restored.
“I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie and Nikki Haley do the same or these Republicans are simply complicit in this unconstitutional attack on the way we conduct our constitutional republic,” Ramaswamy added.
Dave Rubin believes Vivek has made his political move.
“That’s what makes Vivek very good. How are the media controlled? How do you get people on social media to support you? Rubin says, adding, “Who knows if Vivek would even make it to the Colorado primary?”
The Colorado Republican Party responded to Vivek in a tweet on X.
“They won’t have to because we will withdraw from primaries as a party and convert to a pure caucus system if this is allowed to continue,” they wrote.
