Congratulations! The Family Chantel alum Winter Everett announced she is engaged to a mystery man, while showing off her gorgeous diamond ring.
“Plot twist: I’m somebody’s fiancée now! BRB, planning a wedding,” the former TLC star, 30, captioned her Thursday, March 27, Instagram post.
The announcement accompanied a video of the moment her new fiancé popped the big question. Winter wore a white silk outfit and pearl headband as she embraced her fiancé, who donned a blue blazer. The big moment seemingly happened outside under a party tent, and he got down on one knee in front of a blue, white and silver balloon arch.
Finally, the video cut to a clip of Winter flashing her teardrop engagement ring.
Winter has yet to reveal the identity of her fiancé, whom she first featured on her Instagram profile on February 27. The photo was a soft launch as the back of the man’s head faced the camera as he held Winter, who directly faced the camera.
This marks the second proposal fans have witnessed from Winter. During The Family Chantel season 4, she accepted an on camera proposal from her now ex-fiancé, Jah. However, fans weren’t ecstatic about the news as most disliked Jah because he mistreated Winter. Jah is a part of the Nazarene faith and expected Winter to live by his religion’s values and practices ever since they started dating when she was 19 years old.
Even worse, Winter’s sister, 90 Day Fiancé alum Chantel Jimeno, hired a private investigator for Winter after finding him suspicious, who informed her of Jah’s alleged secret son. Not to mention, Winter played an active role as a stepmom for Jah’s young daughter whom he welcomed with another woman.
Also, he also didn’t believe in surgery and didn’t support Winter’s hopes of getting weight loss surgery amid her health and fitness journey.
Winter and Jah ended their engagement during a November 2021 episode of The Family Chantel after he brought up polygamy, a relationship dynamic that he showed interest in many times.
“Sometimes we would have these arguments and he would just keep going and keep going,” Winter said during a confessional interview at the time. “It became so stressful, it was like we just kept on getting into the same conversation about women and what their duties [are] and who they are, so being asked that question about polygamy — I felt like it was a slap in the face. It was just the last straw for me, honestly.”
As she thrived in her single girl era, Winter underwent gastric sleeve surgery in July 2022 and lost a whopping 90 pounds eight months later.
By April 2023, Winter sparked dating rumors with 90 Day Fiancé’s Asuelu Pulaa, who was previously married to Kalani Faagata. The two hung out in the same circles and looked cozy at an Atlanta nightclub.
“I’m extremely vexed over the outcome of this situation,” Winter exclusively told In Touch in response to the dating rumors at the time. “To each their own, but personally, I desire a mature and authentic partnership.”
