Bird is the word.

Tongues are clucking over a tasty new survey determining the favorite fast food chicken sandwiches in the country — with one reigning supreme above all others.

Plucky researchers at Coupon Bird consulted 2,000 bird gobbling Americans to learn more about their quick service poultry preferences, breaking the results down by state. Turns out, a whole 53% of us prefer Chick-fil-A to everything else.

Not only did the trendy brand dominate in home turf states like Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, and Texas — the closed-on-Sunday chicken shack won a lot of hearts out West, besting the compeition in California and Mexico.

Additionally, Chick-fil-A appeared to filled the hearts and stomachs of Midwesterners in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.

The fast food joint, known for its service-oriented approach, clucked well in the northeast, winning over New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.

It’s also the favorite in Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Next to that, America loves that chicken from Popeyes.

It came in as New York’s favorite chicken as well as neighboring Connecticut and Rhode Island.

The Cajun-tinged chain was naturally beloved in Louisiana in addition to Arizona, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, and Montana.

The classic pride and joy of Colonel Sanders, Kentucky Fried Chicken took top marks just three states — its native Kentucky, plus North Dakota and Kansas.

KFC only won over a few states. KFC

Wendy’s enjoyed limited success, taking Alaska, Maine, and Wyoming.

Hawaiian’s voted for Raising Canes, while Idaho most enjoyed Jack In The Box.

People were not lovin’ McDonald’s — the inflation-battered chain took just 4% of the vote.

Many also had it their way by avoiding Burger King, which got a measly 4% support.
