Teen Mom’s Jenelle Evans Claims David Eason Broke Into Her Home
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star Jenelle Evans claimed estranged husband David Eason broke onto her property and tried to steal ATVs and dirt bikes and she caught the alleged incident on tape.
Jenelle, 32, told TMZ on Tuesday, October 22, that David, 36, came to her North Carolina home on Sunday, October 20, while joined by his girlfriend and three others and used a bolt cutter to cut the locks off her gate.
The MTV star said that once inside, the group drove up to her garage and broke in, taking her motorcycles and other property and loading the items onto a trailer.
In surveillance video Jenelle gave to TMZ, one man is seen pushing a motorcycle out of the garage and leaving it next to the trailer. Later, the pickup truck with the items pulled away, while followed by another truck. David was shown at one point walking up to one of the surveillance cameras and seeming to disable it.
A sheriff’s deputy accompanied David and made Jenelle aware of what was happening. In the video, he knocked on her front door and asked if anyone was home. When she replied “no” and asked why he was there, the deputy responded, “There’s a gentleman here getting some of his belongings and I’m just standing by with him.”
“Wait, what are you talking about? Who?” Jenelle asked, and was told “I think his name is David.” She shot back, “He’s not allowed to be in the house. There’s a no contact order. He’s not allowed to be there.”
“Yes ma’am, as long as you’re not here it’s OK. That’s why I was making sure you weren’t here,” the deputy told her.
Jenelle said David wasn’t supposed to be there because of the no contact order and “there’s also in place that he is not allowed back at the property at all because we have a bed and board order,” adding David had “one chance to get his stuff and that was months ago.”
The tape ended with the deputy telling Jenelle he would contact his seargent and she asked him to make sure David did not go inside her house.
TMZ reported that the deputy spoke with his supervisor, who confirmed David was not allowed to take the motorbikes and was only allowed to remove his work tools. Once the deputy told David to return the items and put them back in Jenelle’s garage, he did. The sheriff’s department told the site they had photos of the items David was allowed to take and told him to hire a lawyer if he wanted to obtain the motorbikes and other property.
Jenelle told the outlet she plans to seek legal action against both David and the officer over the incident.
The former Teen Mom 2 star filed for legal separation from David after six years of marriage on February 23. She claimed in court paperwork that the two officially separated on February 16, “with the intent that the separation be permanent.” She cited David’s “erratic” behavior, “substance abuse” issues and his refusal to work as reasons behind the split.
“Throughout the duration of the marriage of the parties, the defendant has exhibited concerning and at times disturbing behavior towards the plaintiff,” Jenelle stated. The former couple share a daughter, Ensley, who was born in January 2017.
The Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom author confirmed to fans in a March 6 TikTok video that she filed for separation and that she had to make that step before being able to file for divorce in North Carolina.
“I would’ve skipped straight to divorce, but I couldn’t, because in the state of North Carolina, you have to be legally separated for a year, and you have to prove you have two separate addresses,” Jenelle explained.
Jenelle threatened to divorce David in October 2019, five months after she was let go from Teen Mom 2, which occurred shortly after David shot and killed her pet French bulldog, Nugget.
“The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process,” Jenelle announced at the time.
However, Jenelle decided to give their marriage another chance and revealed in a March 2020 YouTube video that the pair had reconciled.
In addition to Ensley, Jenelle has two other children from previous relationships. She shares son Jace with ex Andrew Lewis, and another son, Kaiser, with ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith. Jenelle moved with her three kids from North Carolina to Las Vegas, Nevada, in mid-August.
