Subway is launching footlong cookies — and you can get one for free Monday

Monday, Dec. 4, is National Cookie Day, and Subway is having a footlong celebration in honor of the holiday.

The fast-food chain announced it will offer cookie lovers a first bite into the new footlong chocolate chip cookie.

The footlong dessert will be launching nationwide in January, but select Subway restaurants will be giving out the delicacy for free with the purchase of a footlong sub, while supplies last.

Four Subway restaurants in Chicago, Dallas, Miami and New York will be transformed into Cookieway from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time on Monday. Locations include:

  • Chicago: 604 S. Wabash Ave., Suite D, Chicago, IL 60605
  • Dallas: 1222 Commerce St., Suite 150, Dallas, TX 75202
  • Miami: 2795 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33140
  • New York City: 545 8th Ave., New York, NY 10018

According to a news release, the sub chain sells more freshly baked cookies than any other restaurant company in the United States — and soon will be the exclusive home to the footlong cookie.

On National Cookie Day 2022, the chain offered a limited run of footlong cookies at a Cookieway pop-up in Miami — and they were gone in less than two hours.

“The overwhelming response we received from fans around the country last year let us know that we needed to make the footlong cookie a permanent addition to our menu,” Paul Fabre, senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway, said in a statement.

“At Cookieway this year, our guests will get a sneak peek of an even better footlong cookie: thick, gooey, packed with chocolate chips and served warm – right out of the oven. It’s the perfect pairing with your favorite footlong sub and may even become your favorite footlong after the first bite.”

If you can’t make it to Cookieway on National Cookie Day, don’t worry, there are plenty of other reasons to get a Subway cookie for the holidays.

Eating a Subway cookie can actually be a good deed, too, since every cookie sold through Dec. 31, 2023, will support the Subway Cares Foundation®, which runs the Subway’s Fresh Start Scholarships program offering tuition assistance to Sandwich Artists.

Subway MVP Rewards members can also get a free cookie with the purchase of a six-inch or footlong sub with a bonus reward through the end of the year.
