Straphanger shoved into path of subway train ID’d as NYC music programmer Joseph Lynskey
The straphanger shoved into the path of a Manhattan subway train is a Big Apple music programmer who is on track to make a full recovery, despite serious wounds such as a cracked skull, his family reportedly said.
Joseph Lynskey, 45, is also dealing with four broken ribs and a ruptured spleen at Bellevue Hospital after the Tuesday afternoon attack at the 18th Street 1 train station.
“He’s good,” Lynskey’s brother, Christopher Lynskey, told the Daily News as he arrived at Bellevue Hospital. “He’s busted up a little bit but he’s going to make a full recovery.”
Joseph Lynskey is listed in stable condition at the hospital.
According to his Linkedin profile, the straphanger is head of content and music program at the Manhattan-based entertainment agency Gray V.
As he recovered from his injuries, his alleged attacker, 23-year-old Kamel Hawkins, was arraigned on attempted murder and assault charges in Manhattan Criminal Court and ordered held without bail.
His father, Shamel Hawkins, told The Post on Wednesday that his son had been fine until he “began acting weird” recently.
“Lately he’s been going through something, some mental issues,” the elder Hawkins said. “We think somebody put something in his weed.”
