Stolen SUV crashed into Sioux Falls apartment. 3 year old injured in apartment
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Two residents of a Sioux Falls apartment, including a juvenile, were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a stolen SUV crashed into their building.
Sioux Falls Public Information Officer said the vehicle was a 2011 Jeep Cherokee that was stolen from an apartment complex parking lot on October 5.
The Jeep hit multiple balcony posts before crashing through the cinderblock wall of an apartment on the 600 block of N. Elmwood Ave.
A 3-year-old boy was sleeping on the couch in the apartment when the vehicle pinned him between the couch and the wall.
The boy and a 37-year-old man who was also in the apartment were both taken to a local hospital.
A witness said they saw two women and a man get out of the vehicle and flee on foot.
Containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle.
