Steven Tyler accused his alleged sexual assault victim of interfering with his effort to raise money for the Los Angeles firefighters after the recent wildfires and asked that she be sanctioned to the tune of $15,000, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the Aerosmith frontman, 77, accused Julia Misley of causing trouble while her lawsuit against him remains pending.
Steven accused Julia and her lawyers of intentionally and maliciously engaging in conduct that is “prejudicial to the administration of justice in this ongoing litigation.”
The rock star said Julia fired off a letter to Erewhon Markets, where he had a collaboration to benefit Los Angeles firefighters and abuse survivors.
Steven said Julia’s letter violated the court rules regarding truthfulness in statements made to others. Steven’s lawyer said the entertainer was “horrified by the destruction of the wildfires that decimated Southern California in 2025.”
He said, “The wreckage left by the fires and the heroism of the Los Angeles County Fire Department moved him to utilize his celebrity and influence to raise money to aid not only the heroic local firefighters, but also to benefit the Janie’s Fund organization.”
The attorney added, “Janie’s Fund is a tax-exempt, charitable organization that provides services for young women and girls who have survived the trauma of abuse and neglect.”
After the wildfires, Steven entered into a charitable collaboration with Erewhon, the luxury grocery store, to curate and sell special, soft-serve sundaes bearing Steven’s name and titles of two of Aerosmith’s greatest hits.
Steven said proceeds from the sales go to the firefighters and abuse victims.
In February, Julia’s lawyers fired off a letter to Erewhon demanding they remove the items and brought up the allegations against the entertainer.
Steven claimed the letter was clearly intended to interfere with his charitable work.
Steven demanded $15,000 in sanctions for Julia’s actions.
His lawyer added, “[Julia’s lawyer’s] misconduct demonstrates the danger she presents and the danger her law firm presents. While claiming to be defenders of abused women, they believe they have the right to interfere with charitable activities that raise money to help abused women. That is sadly ironic and dangerous.”
Back in 2022, Steven was sued by a woman named Julia Misley (a.k.a.: Julia Holcomb] for alleged sexual battery, sexual assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
In her complaint, Julia claimed she met the rock star at an Aerosmith show when she was 16. Steven was 25 at the time. Julia said Steven asked her to come back to his hotel room, where she claimed he “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct.”
Per the lawsuit, the two started a relationship after the encounter.
At one point, Julia claimed Steven asked her mother to sign paperwork to give him guardianship of her. Julia said her mother never signed the paperwork.
Julia alleged she traveled with Steven, where he provided her drugs and alcohol, and repeatedly assaulted her. In court documents, Julia said she became pregnant with Steven’s child in 1975.
She said the entertainer requested she get an abortion due to them being involved in an apartment fire, which she said he believed could have caused the child defects.
Julia used portions of Steven’s 2011 memoir in her lawsuit.
She pointed to a passage where the rock star wrote about how he almost took a “teen bride” after the girl’s parents “fell in love” with him.
He also claimed the girl’s parents signed over custody to him, “so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state. I took her on tour with me.”
Steven denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He argued the emotional distress claim should be cut before the case proceeded. He said his memoir was protected by the first amendment.
Steven’s lawyer wrote, “[Julia’s] attempt to recast her highly public, multi-year relationship with Tyler as a black-and-white case of child sexual assault omits critical facts and distorts others.” The judge sided with Steven and dismissed the emotional distress claim. Steven demanded attorney fees for defending himself against the claim, which he succeeded in dismissing.
He was awarded $115,000 in legal fees. Steven accused Julia of failing to pay a dime on the judgment since he was awarded the fees. The remaining claims in Julia’s case are still pending.
