State troopers fatally shoot man wanted for stabbing Brooklyn laundromat employee when he learned his clothes weren’t ready

The maniac wanted for stabbing a Brooklyn laundromat worker was shot and killed by state troopers in upstate New York Wednesday after crashing a stolen car and darting into the woods, according to police and sources.

The tense manhunt came to end Wednesday afternoon after Ali Ali, who was considered armed and dangerous, was fatally shot around 2 p.m. in an area off Trout Brook Road in Highland Mills in Orange County, New York State Police said in a statement.

About two hours earlier, troopers had tried to stop a stolen vehicle that ended up crashing and bursting into flames around milepost 49, north of Exit 16 on the New York State Thruway.

Ali, who was behind the wheel, ran away from the scene into the woods.

Police issued a shelter in place warning to residents in the area after he was spotted on a trail camera near Maplewood Drive in the Highland Mills area around 12:35 p.m.

About an hour and a half later “there was a confrontation and at least one member of the State Police discharged” their weapon, killing Ali.

Ali was sentenced to probation in May for a sexual abuse — a slap on the wrist that was set to expire in 2034, according to police sources.

He’s also previously been arrested for forcible touching, robbery and criminal mischief, sources said.

Ali was wanted by authorities after he went berserk at a Brooklyn laundromat on Monday when he went to go pick up his clothing and was told it wasn’t ready, police and sources said.

He jumped up on the counter and slashed a 50-year-old woman working there on the neck and arms, according to a fellow employee who did not wish to be identified.

The laundromat had been busy and his $15.34 worth of wash was still in the machine, the woman added.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
