Shari Redstone flashes big smile as she jets into Sun Valley for ‘summer camp for billionaires’ after Paramount deal

Billionaire Shari Redstone was all smiles Tuesday as she joined other business, tech and media moguls who jetted into Sun Valley, Idaho, ahead of Allen & Co.’s annual “summer camp for billionaires.”

The energetic Redstone, wearing a red blazer and sunglasses, was among the first to arrive at the conference – known as a hotbed for closed-door deal-making as bigwigs gather for days of off-the-record meetings at the posh ski resort.

The media heiress made her deal-making splash ahead of the conference, agreeing Monday to sell her controlling stake in entertainment giant Paramount Global to David Ellison’s Skydance Media for $2.4 billion.

“We’re gonna save the world together!” the 70-year-Redstone shouted to the media scrum as she arrived, according to Bloomberg reporter Michelle Davis.

Other notable early arrivals reportedly included Disney CEO Bob Iger, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and supermodel Karlie Kloss, whose husband Josh Kushner heads up the venture fund Thrive Capital.

The main “fly-in” day on Tuesday featured the usual procession of private jets that crammed the tarmac at tiny Friedman Memorial Airport in the town of Hailey, Idaho – just a short drive away from Sun Valley Lodge.

More than 165 private planes were expected to arrive at the airport throughout the day, according to data from tracking site FightAware cited by Insider.

The list of arrivals included corporate planes owned by Nike and Invemed Securities, founded by billionaire CEO Ken Langone.

Sun Valley’s guest list includes the world’s most powerful tech executives, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

Elon Musk, who has appeared at the conference on multiple occasions in the past, is not expected to attend.

Neither is longtime Berkshire Hathaway chief Warren Buffett, 93, who has dialed back on travel in recent years.
