Shahs of Sunset’s Mike Shouhed Fires Back at Ex’s Hitman Accusation

Shahs of Sunset alum Mike Shouhed asked a L.A. judge to toss the lawsuit brought by his ex-girlfriend Paulina Ben-Cohen accusing him of assault and battery, In Touch can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Mike, 46, denied all allegations of wrongdoing in the case.

Mike’s lawyer argued, “The Complaint also seeks relief against [Mike] that is not properly recoverable by [Paulina], and [Paulina] is therefore barred from any recovery against [Mike].”

In addition, he argued that Paulina “through [her] own conduct, acts and omissions, is estopped from asserting recovering under any of [her] causes of actions alleged against [Mike].”

Further, his lawyer said, “[Mike] alleges that the damages alleged in the complaint, and each claim for relief therein alleged, if any were caused wholly or in part by the acts or omissions of herself, persons, firms, corporations, and/or entities other than [Mike].” Mike asked that the case be dismissed and Paulina be on the hook for his legal fees.

Los Angeles Superior Court

Back in March 2024, Paulina filed a bombshell lawsuit claiming Mike had “viciously, brutally and repeatedly assaulted and battered” her on March 27, 2022.

Paulina said she was engaged to Mike at the time, and he was living in her home with her children. In the suit, Paulina said that she put her children to bed and closed the door.

She said she started to make a hookah when Mike started arguing with her. She said he called her a “horrible mother, a “piece of sh–t” and a “fu–ing whore.”

Paulina claimed she went to her room, but Mike continued texting her awful things. She said she told Mike her feelings about their relationship and that it would be best if he left. She claimed he told her he would not leave the home unless she paid him for half of it. She said she started to pack up his things.

Paulina said she went to the bedroom where Mike kept his clothes and placed some items in a bag.

Paulina, who included screenshots of a security camera from the alleged incident, said Mike ran into the room and forcefully grabbed her hair and shoulder and “violently threw her to the ground.”

The suit continued, “As [Paulina] was lying on the floor, underneath the clothing rack that had come down on top of her body after [Mike] violently threw her to the ground, [Mike] bent over her, struck her in the face, and then put his hand over her face and tried to suffocate her as she writhed on the ground and struggled to breathe.”

Paulina claimed Mike eventually stopped and left the room. She said she went to call 911 but Mike “violently confronted” her.

She said she bought out his hands in front of him as if to strike her again “as she drew back from him in fear.” In her suit, she accused Mike of threatening to kill her and told her he had a hitman who would put her away.

Paulina said she struggled to keep him away after they left the room. At one point, she claimed he suffocated her by holding both of his hands over her mouth.

In court documents, Paulina described her alleged attempts to call 911 but Mike prevented her from dialing.

The suit added, “Nearly four minutes after [Mike] initiated his series of vicious and brutal attacks on [Paulina], this harrowing incident finally came to an end. [Paulina] had screamed for the nanny who was staying in a room on the other side of the house while [Mike] was assaulting and battering her in the playroom, in hopes the nanny would hear her and come to her aid. When the nanny did come, the nanny asked [Mike] to leave and return when he was calm. This only angered [Mike] further, and he stated something to the effect of he was never leaving the house and it was his house. After [ike] went upstairs to retrieve one of his firearms, the police were called, came to the residence, and arrested [Mike].”

Paulina claimed that Mike had previously threatened to kill her in 2021 after an incident that occurred on Shahs of Sunset.

In July 2022, Mike was hit with 13 criminal charges over the incident. He plead not guilty to all charges.

A couple of months later, Mike worked out a deal with prosecutors where he avoided jail time in exchange for completing an anger management and parenting class and community service. Mike and Paulina first started dating in 2019.
