Sen. Thune Biden Needs a ‘Better Answer’ on Drones
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., told Newsmax on Wednesday that the administration of President Joe Biden “has to come up with a better answer” on the issue of the mysterious drones plaguing much of the eastern U.S coast.
For the last several weeks, dozens of reports have circulated regarding drone sightings in several states on the east coast operating near critical infrastructure and military bases. Both state and federal elected officials have voiced concerns and pleaded with the government to inform the public as to the nature of the unmanned aerial vehicles [UAVs]. Thune said that Biden has been “downplaying” the sightings and needs to be more “transparent.”
“I think the American people are understandably frustrated and understandably distrustful of the information that they’re getting from the administration. But, you know, this is an issue that is very much on the minds of Americans, particularly in areas around the country where we’re seeing a lot of the drone traffic. And I think the administration has to come up with a better answer,” Thune said during an appearance on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren.”
The incoming senate majority leader said things will be different when President-elect Donald Trump takes office adding, “they will be more transparent and hopefully get this resolved and not create all the skepticism, the cynicism, and frankly, the fear that I think a lot of people across the country are feeling about this.
