Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have been butting heads for months, especially after son Mason moved out of his mom’s home and in with his dad – and it’s boiling over big time as the holidays approach and tensions threaten to spiral out of control, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
The Lemme founder, 45, first met Scott, 41, in 2006 while on vacation in Mexico. Their on-again, off-again relationship was chronicled throughout the run of her family’s show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and its related spin-offs. While together, the pair welcomed three children: Mason, in December 2009, Penelope, in July 2012, and Reign, in December 2014.
After nine years as an item, Kourtney called it quits following photos surfaced of Scott getting up close and personal with stylist Chloe Bartoli in France in July 2015. The heartbroken Kardashian lamented that she “can’t believe that this is where my life is at right now,” on an episode of their show.
“I’ve worked so hard to keep this family together, it just makes me sad for the kids. He’s not being a good partner to me. I could never rely on him, depend on him for one single thing and I don’t want to show my kids that that’s okay,” she added.
Her contempt for her three-time baby daddy hasn’t subsided as the years passed, and the source says, “Kourtney is adamant about setting boundaries and wants her mom to back her up and tell Scott he’s not welcome to join their family holidays anymore, but Kris [Jenner] won’t do it. She still sees Scott as a son-in-law and wants Kourtney to just suck it up and play nice.”
With Kourtney now married to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, the mom of four is done feeding into her ex’s ego. However, Kourtney was dealt another blow when she and Scott’s oldest kid, Mason, decided to live with his dad, instead.
A different source told Life & Style, “She is heartbroken over it. While Kourtney is giving Mason space to work through his feelings, at the end of the day, she blames Scott.”
Even though Kris, 69, “says Scott is a great dad and insists he’s not the one causing the drama,” according to the first source, who also notes that the Kardashian momager believes, “Travis and Kourtney are [the source of the bad blood.]”
“It’s kind of true,” the insider continues, “Travis doesn’t hide the fact he hates Scott. He’s always trying to assert his dominance and Kourtney always backs him up. She’s still hanging on to old resentments, plus she’s very bitter that Mason has chosen to live with Scott.”
With tempers running hot, Kourtney is giving her family an ultimatum – her or Scott.
“She’s threatening to skip any family holiday parties if he’s invited, and Scott is pushing back hard, insisting that he should be allowed to come. A more mature guy might just back off and find something else to do, but Scott is digging in his heels.”
“He’d love a big showdown with Kourtney and Travis.”
