Fans of the hit HBO sitcom “Sex and the City” were shocked when a Chicago-based thrift flipper found Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic Vera Wang wedding dress at a Goodwill store for nearly $18.99.
Ashley Cano, a Poshmark reseller, was shopping at the thrift store when she found the dress worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character during the franchise’s first film based off the hit TV series.
The gown from the 2008 movie features a white strapless bodice with layers of soft feathery-like fabric flowing onto the ground.
“Vera freaking Wang,” Cano said in a TikTok video showing off the dress. “I can not believe that I found this dress at Goodwill for $18.99.”
In the movie, Bradshaw wore the designer piece for a Vogue photoshoot that was going to be paired with a story about her being a 40-year-old bride.
The TikTok video quickly went viral, and her comment section filled up with fellow “SATC” fans begging to purchase the dress, as others guessed it could be sold for thousands of dollars.
“That’s like $4,000! Nice find!!!,” one TikTok user commented.

One social media user even suggested Cano keep it for herself but the small business owner shut down that idea.
“No diet could ever have me making it work,” Cano quipped.
Cano hasn’t listed the item for sale on her online shop just yet and admitted that she’s not sure how to sell an item like this.
The thrifter asked for suggestions on how she should sell the wedding dress that ironically, she plans to use the profits to help pay for her divorce.
“Low key been stressing over my lawyer bills for my divorce,” Cano wrote in her comment section. “I needed a blessing. Didn’t think it would come in the way of a wedding dress but I’m not complaining.”
The television series, based on Candace Bushnell’s column “Sex and the City” published in the New York Observer, ran from 1998 to 2004.
Two movies were made before most of the cast returned for the spinoff “And Just Like That…” which is expected to release its third season later this year.
