Rihanna is finalizing arrangements for a concert tour this summer and she’s bringing her kids and A$AP Rocky along for the ride, which a source exclusively tells In Touch will serve as a celebration now that her beau’s been fully cleared of his legal woes.
“Rihanna’s life has been on hold ever since Rocky got charged two years ago, the possibility of him going away for 24 years was a huge burden and all she wanted to do was spend her time focusing on their little family,” the insider says.
A Los Angeles jury found the 36-year-old rapper not guilty of two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm after a three-week long trial. He was accused of brandishing a weapon and firing shots, hitting Terell Ephron, also formerly known as A$AP Relli, in the hand, which carried a hefty potential sentence of over two decades years in prison were he found guilty. He maintained he was only holding a prop gun, denying the charges.
After the trial concluded and Rocky walked free from the courthouse, Rihanna, 37, joined her man on the steps to celebrate the victory as he gave his side to reporters.
“The glory belongs to God and God alone! Thankful, humbled by his mercy!” The “Diamonds” singer posted to Instagram. She shares two kids with Rocky: RZA, 2, and Riot, 1.
A second source previously dished to In Touch that, for the past year, Rihanna had “every intention of standing by him no matter what happened, but of course it’s horrible to think about being separated from him.”
Worse yet, “the boys are so attached to their daddy, having to suddenly break that bond and try and explain to them why he’s going away was too heartbreaking to even consider.”
That source added that when the trial was still ongoing and Rocky’s fate was up in the air, the pair were “trying not to think of the worst happening … but there’s no denying this is hanging over their heads and keeping them awake at night. It’s a nightmare.”
As fate would have it though, “he’s been cleared,” the first source continues, and “they can get on with their lives and that may include Rihanna getting back on stage.”
“She’s very hot and cold about the idea, one day she says she’s ready and wants to do a huge tour and even perform at Glastonbury and then she changes her mind, so it’s all still a little unclear. But one thing she’s very hyped on is spending some time with Rocky and the kids in Europe.”
“They had such a great time the last time they were over there but there was the constant worry about his trial hanging over their heads,” the insider says. “She and Rocky are talking about a do-over where they take the kids and visit all their favorite cities.”
“She wants to spend time in London, in Paris, they want to take the kids on a yacht trip in the South of France this summer. It still remains to be seen if she will deliver on the shows for her fans, but a big family Euro tour is 100 percent going to happen, they’re going to be in celebration mode all year.”
