Real estate mogul, husband of Mama and Tata influencer dead at 43

Real estate mogul Brandon Miller, the husband of a social media influencer who started the popular lifestyle blog Mama + Tata, died in the Hamptons last week. He was 43.

Miller was reportedly hospitalized at a Southampton hospital days prior to his death last Wednesday. There was no confirmed cause of death.

He was buried at the New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon over the weekend, according to cemetery records first reported by The Real Deal.

Miller was married to Candice Miller, the socialite who founded Mama + Tata.  The couple have two young children.

They own a $9 million house in Tribeca and a $3 million home in Southampton, the Daily Mail reported.

Brandon Miller was a managing partner at REEC – which was founded by his late father, Michael Miller, in 1978 after a career spent developing shopping centers.

The Brown University graduate joined his father’s real estate company in 2004 as head of the acquisitions and finance department, according to the REEC website.

The company has purchased or developed more than 20 million square feet of real estate properties throughout the country, including numerous properties in New York City that include 985 Park Ave., 156 Prince St. and 1228 Madison.

Candice Miller – who started her fashion blog with her sister, Jenna Crespi, in 2016 – is the co-founder of vintage-inspired clothing line Black Iris, and the head buyer for Tenet in Southampton, the Daily Mail reported.

The socialite was previously linked to Ivanka Trump’s social circle in Miami after the pair were photographed at the beach in 2021.

Candice Miller’s cousin, Arielle Charnas, is a fashion blogger and founder of Something Navy, which closed last year.

Brandon Miller has faced some legal headaches over the past few years.

A 2019 complaint alleged that Brandon Miller’s father – who died in 2016 – had told his assistant to forge his son’s signature on some loan documents related to a condo project.

The lawsuit was settled, according to court documents reported by The Real Deal.

In 2022, TD Bank sued Brandon Miller, his mother and his sister, alleging they made fraudulent transfers to keep the bank from collecting $2.1 million from his mother.

A third lawsuit filed last May claimed Brandon Miller owed more than $55,000 in docking fees to a Hamptons marina in Aquebogue.
