NYC political volunteer Vladislav Deshkovich fatally stabbed own mother 10 times: Brooklyn DA’s Office

The Brooklyn political volunteer who allegedly stabbed his mother to death knifed her 10 times, including three times in the face, prosecutors said Saturday — though he claimed to police he only “punched” her.

Vladislav Deshkovich, 30, was remanded during his Saturday night arraignment after he was charged with the murder of 52-year-old Inna Deshkovich, who was found dead in a pool of blood in her Bay Ridge apartment, according to a criminal complaint.

The stabbing happened during an argument between the mother and son, authorities said.

“The defendant is accused of stabbing his mother to death yesterday,” Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Jordan Rossman said during the brief hearing at Brooklyn Criminal Court. “He went to his mother’s apartment and stabbed her approximately seven times in the neck and the shoulder and three times in the face.”

The younger Deshkovich then fled out of the two-story home before he was arrested about four hours later in front of his apartment, Rossman said.

He allegedly told police, “I punched my mother,” but when cops showed him a photo of her, he quickly asked for a lawyer, Rossman said.

He was charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Deshkovich had political aspirations before the slaying that included a possible run for state Senate, according to social media accounts he set up. He also had volunteered for City Councilman Ari Kagan (R-Brooklyn), though the pol told The Post he only volunteered for him once and met him a few times.

Kagan lost to Democratic City Councilman Justin Brannan this November.

Deshkovich’s defense lawyer, Edward Daniels, requested bail, citing his “lack of involvement in the criminal justice system.” But that request was denied by Judge Archana Rao, who called the allegations “very serious” and ordered he remain in custody without bail.

She did sign off on protective custody and a psychological evaluation requested by Daniels for his client.

Deshkovich, wearing a white Tyvek suit, didn’t speak during the arraignment.

A neighbor said his girlfriend heard the mother screaming during the incident.

“I guess it was quick, because they just stopped,” he said.

“This was a common occurrence, the arguments, for years. They would get heated, they’d yell at each other back and forth, in I think Russian, we would hear the screaming.”

The woman’s neighbor told police when she knocked on the door during the fight, the son answered and claimed the dispute was about money, police sources said. He also told the neighbor he knocked his mother unconscious, sources said.

Deshkovich’s next court date is Dec. 7.
