MTA cops fatally shoot man in Queens
MTA police officers shot and killed a man in Queens on Friday night, according to police sources.
An individual approached two MTA cops near Jamaica Station around 10:15 p.m. and told them they were victims of a crime, MTA Police told CBS news.
The person led the officers to the suspect, who allegedly flashed a firearm at the officers when he was confronted.
A shootout erupted, and the suspect was struck in the head, according to police and sources.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, sources said.
Photos showed what appeared to be an automatic weapon lying on the ground near a hat with the word “Killa” emblazoned on it inside the cordoned-off crime scene as police investigated.
The Post has reached out to the MTA for more information on the shooting.
