Mom dies from embarrassment after daughter asks Santa for Christmas gift

With parenting, nothing is quite as unpredictable as what comes out of your kid’s mouth.

From bizarre musings about the world around them, to blunt comments about strangers — their innocent, unfiltered thoughts often leave us in stitches.

That was the case for one mom on TikTok, who was left in hysterics (albeit slightly red-faced) after a recent miscommunication between her daughter and their local shopping center Santa.

“So, my daughter sits on Santa’s lap and says, ‘Hey Santa, can you please bring us some food? We don’t have any food in the house,” mom Casie Terry Reber explains in the clip.

She then makes an impression of herself thanking people nearby for presumably offering her family food.

Casie continues, “She goes on to say, ‘Sometimes we find food but mommy says we can only have it if we’re really good. I promise if you bring us food we’ll be so good and we won’t let the dog get it and ruin it’.”

Finally, her real request became clear

At this point, Casie says she was seriously confused over the bizarre request.

She asked her daughter afterward why she begged Santa for food, saying, “I know we got takeaway last night, but that was because mom didn’t want to cook, not because we don’t have any food, honey.”

“So, my daughter sits on Santa’s lap and says, ‘Hey Santa, can you please bring us some food? We don’t have any food in the house,” Reber said in the video.

But her daughter insisted that they still didn’t have any food.

After a while of this back and forth, she says that her daughter meant food for her play kitchen.

“She meant play kitchen food,” the mom said, breathing a sigh of relief.

Kids really do say the funniest things

The clip left hundreds of fellow parents laughing along, and the comments soon filled with similar stories of kids innocently and hilariously misleading people.

Reber continued, saying “She goes on to say, ‘Sometimes we find food but mommy says we can only have it if we’re really good. I promise if you bring us food we’ll be so good and we won’t let the dog get it and ruin it’.”

One person wrote, “My brother told the teacher, ‘Mom went to heaven last week.’ We had been on holiday and she kept saying, ‘Ugh this is heaven’.”

Then this mom shared, “My son told someone he hasn’t taken a bath in months. He left off the part that he’s been taking showers.”

And someone else wrote, “My son told his daycare teacher that our house burned down. It indeed did not. The fire alarms went off after making bacon one morning.”

“My dad worked at a prison. My brother told his teacher that dad is in prison and he never gets to see him. My mom had to go to school to clear it up,” revealed another mom.

Priceless!

Anyway, we hope this little girl gets the food from Santa she so desperately hopes for!
