Missing NJ dad found dead 100 miles from home after mysterious death

The body of a New Jersey dad reported missing just before Father’s Day was recovered 100 miles from his home, New Jersey State Police said, but the mystery of what happened to him is still unsolved.

Family members reported Isaac Bishop, 33, of Irvington, missing on June 11, authorities said.

His body was found June 30 around 2:30 p.m. in a heavily wooded area near 13th Avenue in Weymouth Township, Atlantic County, a state police spokesman confirmed.

The cause of death was not disclosed and his family is searching for answers.

“From Our Family: Thank you so much to everyone that reposted, shared, prayed, called, or even offered their help. Isaac is truly loved and will be extremely missed,” wrote his sister Porschea Cooper in a July 3 Facebook post.

“He was an amazing father, son, brother, and partner. The family is still waiting on more details and of course grieving while trying to accept this outcome,” Cooper said.

“We don’t have any other information at this time,” she told The Post. “It’s still under investigation.”

Bishop’s car was found abandoned in Newark with his wallet and identification inside, the family previously posted on social media.

He was last seen by family on June 9, they said. Family members, including his mother and sister, posted near daily updates seeking information and asking people for help before his body was found.

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Bishop — who family said would normally take his children to school — didn’t appear for his daughter’s graduation, hadn’t been to work and was mysteriously absent for Father’s Day, his loved ones noted, adding, “None of which he would have willingly missed.”

An NJ state police spokesman said Friday that the matter is still under investigation and “we have nothing additional to release at the moment.”
