Matt Damon ‘Will Get Something’ Out of David Beckham Bromance (EXCL)

Matt Damon has formed a super tight friendship with David Beckham, according to a source, who exclusively tells In Touch the pair are double dating with the wives and looking to team up on plenty of projects in 2025 and beyond.

“Matt almost exclusively works with his friends these days, whether you’re talking about Ben and Casey Affleck or Mathew McConaughey or his best couple friends John Krasinski and Emily Blunt – he’s gone on to make multiple major films with these people,” says a friend who has worked with The Martian star on multiple projects.

As Matt, 54, can afford to be choosy about who he works with these days, “You just know he’s going to take this new friendship with David Beckham and turn it into something that makes both of them even more money,” the source adds.

The A-list actor and the former footballer, 49, struck up a fast friendship recently and have already worked on set together, most recently getting roped into a commercial for Stella Artois which saw the two men play twin brothers for the Super Bowl spot.

“It’s not just about beer commercials, though,” the source continues. “Remember, Harvey Weinstein gave Matt one of his biggest early breaks by backing Good Will Hunting – only to be exposed as a monster years later. Matt has trust issues because of that experience and needs to be surrounded by people he really knows when he enters into any kind of high stakes movie project, as a star or just a producer.”

“But the real question is, what’s in it for David Beckham? David has stacked up some serious Hollywood friendships over the years but he’s such a laid back guy that he never does anything with them – it’s not his style.”

“That’s where a type-A personality like Matt comes in. Mark my words, Matt will get something big out of this relationship, the same way he does with almost every new friend he makes.”

Ever since quitting the pitch as a player, David has been collecting A-list talent as he attempts to pump his new team Inter Miami CF. The new bond with Matt and his buddies couldn’t come at a better time, either, as the Beckhams once-loyal friends, the Sussexes, have been on the outs of late.

The alleged feud between the two couples kicked off in 2018, when Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle was rumored to have accused Victoria Beckham, 50, of giving out personal info to news outlets. Now David, who even attended Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding, is reportedly no longer on speaking terms with the wayward royal.

According to a different insider who previously spoke to In Touch, David wouldn’t dare stick his nose in official royal business as Harry continues his feud with his heir-apparent brother, William. As a “royalist,” David has shown his support for William, 43, as the relationship between the two brothers disintegrates.

After committing to spending more time in the U.S. for his Miami-based football club, David can rest assured he’s found a new social circle that consists of Matt and Ben’s Hollywood elite.
