Man, 50, shot in leg during botched robbery at NYC grocery store: cops
A 50-year-old man was shot in the leg during a broad-daylight botched robbery inside a Brooklyn grocery store Friday, cops said.
The gunman barged into Royal Supermarket on Eighth Avenue near 15th Street — down the block from Prospect Park in South Slope — flashed a gun and demanded cash around 3 p.m., police said.
He then opened fire, letting off three rounds, one of which struck the victim’s leg, authorities said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
It was not immediately known whether the victim worked at the store.
The shooter, described as a man in his 40s, was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, army pants and white sneakers. He fled on foot southbound on Eighth Avenue, police said.
No arrests were immediately made.
