James Kennedy Won’t Be Charged Over Domestic Violence Arrest

Vanderpump Rules alum James Kennedy will not be charged for his December 2024 domestic violence arrest, In Touch can confirm.
“I was just informed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office that no charges will be filed against James Kennedy,” the Bravo star’s attorney, Scott Leemon, said in a Wednesday, January 22, press release. “I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter involving my client, James Kennedy. Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning — there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy.”
Leemon concluded the statement by noting that “James is grateful to have this matter behind him” and he is “looking forward to continuing to focus on his sobriety and his DJ career.”
In Touch previously reported that police arrived at James’ house in Burbank, California, on December 10, 2024. An eyewitness called authorities, claiming that James, 32, was in a domestic dispute with a woman. He was arrested on a misdemeanor of domestic violence and was shortly released after making a $20,000 bail.
James’ girlfriend, Ally Lewber, was not listed as the female victim. TMZ reported that the victim did not have visible bruising on her body when police arrived at the scene.
However, hours before the altercation, James and Ally, 28, were at Kathy Hilton’s house for her annual holiday party.
“[James] and Ally were cuddling together and taking photos,” a source told Us Weekly on December 12, 2024. “He seemed like he was in a good headspace and was dancing, singing and having fun.”
A second source told the outlet that James’ attitude switched by the end of the night and was “causing a scene” with his friend as they ran throughout Kathy’s house.
Later that day, Ally was spotted for the first time since James’ arrest outside his home while on the phone. The astrologist smiled during her conversation, according to photos shared by Page Six.
James was photographed by the outlet the following day as he picked up his food delivery from outside his front door.
Ally broke her silence following the incident on December 14, 2024, assuring fans that she was OK.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me,” she wrote via Instagram Stories at the time. “I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
Although she didn’t address the status of her relationship with James, Page Six shared photos of the U.K. native helping Ally move out of their house and packed her car full of her belongings on December 16, 2024.
After reflecting in an empty home, James broke his silence following his arrest via Instagram Stories the following day.
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” he wrote “I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones.”
A source gave Us Weekly an update on James and Ally’s relationship after she moved out, revealing, “Everyone around them thinks they are done and can’t come back from this.”
