J. Lo Is ‘Ready to Date’ But Being ‘Careful’ After Ben Affleck Divorce

Jennifer Lopez is ready to get back in the dating game two months after settling her divorce with ex-husband Ben Affleck, a source tells In Touch. However, she’s not going to jump into any romance headfirst.
“Jennifer is definitely ready to date again, but this time she’s being very careful about what she wants in a relationship,” the insider explains. “She’s the first one to tell you that she falls in love too quickly. She goes in hard, with an open and trusting heart, but she says she can’t count on her heart anymore.”
The source continues, “She’s trying to make sure her next relationship is ego-free, on her part too, and that it comes from a place of honesty, and integrity. And more importantly, she says she needs to trust her instincts. She’s no longer going to ignore the red flags.”
J. Lo, 55, hasn’t publicly stepped out with another man ever since filing for divorce from Ben, 52, on August 20, 2024. The date that fell on the former couple’s second anniversary of their lavish wedding at Ben’s Georgia estate.
Jennifer listed their date of separation as April 26, 2024, and filed pro per, meaning without an attorney. A Los Angeles Superior Court approved Ben and J. Lo’s divorce settlement on January 6, and it was finalized on February 21.
The Marry Me star gained a reputation for hopping from one romance to the next rather quickly over the years.
Jennifer filed for divorce from backup dancer Chris Judd in July 2002 after falling for Ben on the set of Gigli. J. Lo and Ben proceeded to get engaged in November 2002, although the pair dramatically called off their September 2003 wedding days ahead of the event and broke up in January 2004.
The “Waiting for Tonight” singer stunned fans when she married singer Marc Anthony six months later in July 2004. The duo went on to welcome twins Emme and Max in 2008 before separating in July 2011. Later that year, Jennifer began dating dancer Casper Smart. Her divorce from Marc, 56, was finalized in 2014.
J. Lo took a bit of a breather between the end of her romance with Casper, 37, in 2016, and the start of her four-year relationship with Alex Rodriguez, which began in February 2017.
The former MLB superstar, 49, popped the question in March 2019, but the duo never made it down the aisle. Jennifer and Alex announced their split on April 15, 2021, and two weeks later she was photographed for the first time having a reunion with Ben.
Their rekindled romance led to an engagement in April 2022, and the duo eloped in Las Vegas in July of that year. J. Lo’s current status of being single since her August 2024 divorce filing from Ben marks one of the Atlas star’s longest stretches without a boyfriend or husband.
While Ben hasn’t been publicly linked to any new women since the Hustlers star filed for divorce, he was photographed getting cozy with his first ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, at their son Samuel’s 13th birthday party on March 2.
While their flirtatious behavior turned heads, the Peppermint star, 52, made it clear she’s still with boyfriend John Miller by having several PDA-filled outings since then.
“Ben has joked with Jen that if he had a time machine and could bring the guy he is today to his marriage to Jen back then, they’d probably still be together,” a source exclusively told In Touch on March 5. “But there’s no use in speculating what could have been. They really get along now.”
The insider added that Jen “isn’t interested in getting back with Ben” and would rather have a “healthy, coparenting relationship.”
