Emiko revealed that the wireless earbuds have a little-known voice isolation feature that filters out background noise when you’re on a call, and fans are calling it a “game changer.”
“The other night I was on the phone with my ex-boyfriend and he told me this life hack that I feel like the biggest idiot for not knowing for so long,” Emiko said in the viral clip with 6.4 million views.
The Australian native who lives in New York City discovered the trick on her AirPods Pro model, the only version with an audio function.
Trying to speak over the ambient sounds of the bustling city, Emiko’s ex asked, “It’s really loud, why don’t you use voice isolation?”
Emiko explained that she had never heard of the feature and captioned the clip posted on November 20: “How did I NOT know this?”
“All this time I had them in general and isolated the voice, it was very clear and only captured my voice,” he said.
In the clip, the Australian woman demonstrated how to use the tool, revealing sound options from standard voice isolation or wide spectrum, which leaves ambient noises unfiltered.

Apple describe The Voice Isolation feature for “When you want your voice to be even clearer during a phone call or FaceTime, activate Voice Isolation, which prioritizes your voice and blocks out ambient noises.
