Footage captures moment cops fatally shoot gunman who targeted couple in NYC

Dramatic video footage captured the moment police gunned down a shooter who targeted a couple in Brooklyn Monday evening.

A man and a woman are seen running away from the shooter at Remsen Avenue and East 57th Street just as cops pull up to the scene in an unmarked car.

A group of officers then descended in the direction of the sidewalk, where at least one officer appeared to open fire and strike the perpetrator, the video showed.

The four police officers were canvassing the East Flatbush neighborhood when they stumbled upon the terrifying incident, NYPD previously announced.

The 20-year-old shooter was later pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

The two people he was chasing were not injured.

Police also released an image of the gun recovered from the scene.

The officers involved in the incident were taken to the hospital for observation.

A 60-year-old man was also shot on a nearby block, though police said it was unclear how that incident occurred.

He is expected to survive his injuries.

“Once again tonight, you see New York City police officers running towards danger, running in the middle of gunfire, stopping the threat and saving two people’s lives,” NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said at a press conference near the scene Monday.
