Filmgoer’s horrific discovery inside gross movie theater

Talia Walker had just entered one of the ten screening rooms at Event Cinemas Miranda when she noticed something unusual on an aisles seat — a seat covered in mold.

The video depicts an up-close shot of the seat’s arm, which is clearly blotched with a number of fuzzy growths.

Shockingly, this seat wasn’t the only one covered in fungus.

As Walker moves the camera up the steps to the next row of seats, it becomes clear that multiple chairs in the cinema have been taken over by mold.

If the thought of watching Babygirl in a chair engulfed by mutant bacteria doesn’t sound bad enough, Walker added the smell was unbearable.

“It smelt like vinegar and mold, as if they had tried to clean or hide it … ended up leaving early due to the smell,” she told news.com.au.

“A few others went out to complain about the smell but didn’t get anyone coming in to check.”

“The whole experience made me feel gross and uncomfortable when I just wanted to relax and watch a movie.

“I tried searching for a seat that didn’t have mold and couldn’t find one.”

Event Cinemas Miranda blames the mold outbreak on Sydney’s recent rainy weather. Google Maps

Event Cinemas blamed the mold outbreak on recent bouts of rain.

“Due to the recent weather that Sydney has experienced including rain and high humidity, our cinemas at Miranda experienced some mold,” a spokesman said.

“This issue has been resolved.”
