Ewan McGregor Testifies in Court Against ‘Delusional’ Woman

Ewan McGregor and the woman allegedly obsessed with him both appeared at a court hearing that ended with the actor being granted a restraining order, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, a hearing was held on Ewan’s petition for protection against a woman named Angelica went down on February 24. Ewan and Angelica both appeared remotely and testified at the hearing.
Ewan, 53, was represented by his powerhouse lawyer, Evan Spiegel. At the end of the hearing, the court granted Ewan’s petition and ordered Angelica to stay 100 yards away from Ewan and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
The order instructed Angelica to not harass, intimidate, stalk, threaten, assault, or contact Ewan and Mary, 40.
The court order noted, “The protected person and the restrained person were at the hearing or agreed in writing to this order. No other proof of service is needed.”
Ewan filed his petition on January 30 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
In the filing, obtained by In Touch, he said Angelica was a 38-year-old woman who had a “compulsive and delusional fixation on” him. Ewan said the woman had also targeted his family members with stalking, harassment, and expressed threats of death about his spouse.
“In addition to dozens of bizarre, delusional, harassing and threatening messages to Ewan and to his family, [Angelica] drove cross-country to California, to seek out Ewan and his family, showing up at the home of [Ewan’s] ex-spouse on Christmas Eve, to gain access to them.”
His lawyer added, “Her aggressive and delusional messages have since increased and she has also stated her intention to come back.”

His attorney accused the woman of being unstable and said she had the “delusional belief she personally knows [Ewan] and has a romantic relationship with him, which she does not, and that [Ewan’s] spouse stole him from [her].”
Ewan’s lawyer claimed the woman sent hundreds of thousands of harassing messages to the actor, through his daughter, including repeating threatening to kill [Mary] and get [Ewan] back.”
In his declaration, Ewan wrote, “I am in fear from [Angelica] for my and my families’ personal safety, and that of those around me and us.” Ewan said when she was ordered to leave his ex-wife’s home, she appeared agitated and upset with being made to leave. He claimed she got into her car and crashed into a wall twice while turning around.
“I am in fear from [Angelica] and, more importantly, that of my family. I am therefore seeking orders of protection against her further stalking and to prevent her return to my home and/or that or my family members and to prevent further unwanted and harassing communications and threats and violence from [Angelica],” Ewan wrote.
Ewan was adamant he does not know Angelica. He said, “She does not — and I do not personally know her and have never had personal communications with her.” The actor’s restraining order will expire in 2030 and covers not only his wife but his children.
Ewan and Mary wed in 2022 and have once children together.
