Disney’s ‘Tally the Elf’ taking internet by storm with viral parade antics
A silly elf is spreading Christmas cheer at the most magical place on earth — and across the internet.
Tally the Elf took the internet by storm this Christmas season for his over-the-top reaction to whether parkgoers at Disney’s Magic Kingdom were going to end up on the naughty or nice list.
Disney parkgoers often pleaded for the energetic cast member — dressed in a festive outfit with jingle bells on his vest and a candy cane visor — during the “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” parade.
Tally would repeat the parkgoer’s name in a higher-pitched voice before checking once and often twice before giving his verdict in an extravagant showman-style fashion.
“Yep, you’re here. NAUGHTY!” he screamed as he slammed his comically oversized pencil onto his clipboard.
One woman applauded when she discovered she made the naughty list.
“Why are you happy about that? You need to get it together,” the elf said before he ran off in the parade.
The Christmas spirit would fill Tally’s heart so he’d “erase” the person’s name from the naughty list and put it on the nice list.
The elf’s antics have launched the character into a viral sensation for Disney fans. The theme park showcased the kind-hearted interaction on social media, which has generated over 400K views.
“Protect Tally at all costs. He is a national treasure,” one fan said.
“The way this individual portrayed Tally the Elf made me so happy!! Christmas just hasn’t felt like it should for a while, but these videos always seemed to bring back the magic for me,” another wrote.
However, supporters fear that harassment and alleged doxxing from crazed fans will jeopardize Tally’s appearances as the actor didn’t appear in a recent parade.
“Tally is still in the parade, this specific actor playing Tally called out,” Disney influencer TheFitFlounder said on Wednesday, citing sources. “This is where the problem lies. Every cast member at Disney is very hardworking and they all deserve to be treated with respect. Doxxing of any cast member at Disney is absolutely deplorable.”
The Post reached out to Disney World for comment.
Former Disney employees confessed that viral social media videos of actors in character could get the employee in major trouble or even fired if it goes viral.
TikTok user Jill Beignet alleged character performers have been terminated because they did something “cute or fun” in a video but that a manager didn’t like it.
The former employee shared that a Peter Pan actor was fired because of too many viral videos of him joking around with people.
“If you’re causing problems in any way for the company, you’re just not worth it,” Beignet explained.
