Cop axed by NYPD in 2023 over parking dispute facing manslaughter rap after passenger dies in DWI crash

A former NYPD cop who was axed from the force in 2023 for pulling a gun during a parking dispute is now facing DWI manslaughter raps after a weekend crash in Nassau County.

Police say 26-year-old Aaron Cooper of Lindenhurst had been drinking when he lost control of his vehicle at 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning in North Woodmere and flipped the car.

Arriving officers found Cooper’s unidentified 22-year-old passenger dead at the scene.

The ex-cop suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Cooper is now facing a raft of charges, including manslaughter, assault, DWI, and reckless driving.

Cooper was fired from the NYPD in January 2023 for pulling out a pistol during an early morning argument over a parking spot.

Cooper was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, criminal mischief and harassment, cops said.

Cooper was off duty in July 2021 when he began jawing with a Queens man in front of the victim’s home and later produced the weapon.

He allegedly called the victim “a slew of insults, causing him alarm,” a police spokesperson aid.

Cooper was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, criminal mischief and harassment, cops said.

A department spokesperson confirmed Sunday that he was terminated in January 2023.

Cooper will be arraigned when medically feasible.
