2024 Election

Charlamagne Tha God Rips ‘Uninspiring’ Biden: Problem Isn’t Age, It’s ‘Just Everything To Do With Him’

Charlamagne tha God, co-host of “The Breakfast Club” syndicated radio show, said on Sunday that President Joe Biden was an “uninspiring candidate” and that Democrats should lean more on Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming election.

Charlamagne tha God, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, made the remarks during an interview on ABC News’s “This Week” with Jonathan Karl.

McKelvey, who is on the political Left, took numerous shots at Republicans throughout the discussion, saying that “the crooks are the Republicans” and that former President Donald Trump was a threat to democracy.

When asked why Biden’s messaging was not resonating with voters, McKelvey said the president was “just an uninspiring candidate, there’s nothing about Joe Biden that makes you want to listen to him.”

“That’s why he should be leaning on his vice president, Kamala Harris, who is way more charismatic than him,” he continued. “He should be leaning on other surrogates like [California Governor] Gavin Newsom or [Governor Josh] Shapiro in Pennsylvania.”

McKelvey said Biden should be “the brains of the operation behind the scenes” because he “has no main character energy at all. None.”

When asked if age had anything to do with Biden’s problem, McKelvey said: “I don’t think it has anything to do with age, I think it has just everything to do with him. Like Donald Trump is four years, three years younger than President Biden. But he just comes off a lot more youthful. He comes off, you know, like he has a lot more energy. And I always say this about him. Donald Trump seems more sincere about his lies than Joe Biden does about his truth.”

McKelvey said that one reason that some voters are not taking what he claims would be a dangerous Trump second term seriously is because the political Left has always demonized all Republicans to the point where no one takes the claims seriously anymore.

“And the other problem is they’ve always done this with every single Republican candidate, since I’ve been alive, whoever the Republican presidential candidate has been, they’ve demonized,” he said. “It doesn’t matter who it is, it doesn’t matter if it’s John McCain, doesn’t matter if it was Mitt Romney, it doesn’t matter who it is. They will demonize the Republican candidate. And now that there’s an actual legitimate threat right there in our faces, they’re like, they’re like the party who cried wolf. Nobody believes them.”
