British comedian Daniel O’Reilly sparks debate after teasing his pregnant wife’s walk
A comedian has found himself under fire after mocking his pregnant wife’s walk.
Daniel O’Reilly, or Dapper Laughs, filmed his heavily pregnant wife in a UK supermarket while poking fun at her gait.
The TikTok has since gone viral, and comments suggest the joke may not have landed as he originally expected.
In the video, Daniel asks why pregnant women “walk like they’re about to start a scrap?”
At one point he films his wife Shelley walking ahead of him towards two other people.
“She looks like she’s just come out of Wetherspoons (a pub), 10 Stellas (beers) deep on the pub grub,” he joked.
He then calls for his wife to “start on these two now” as she gets closer to the supermarket employee and another customer.
Shelley, clearly sick of her husband’s antics, annoyedly tells Daniel to “shut up” while walking away.
“Comedians’ wives must be stressed 24/7”
The Sun reports a lot of women were quick to slam the comedian in the comments, saying he could never understand what being pregnant feels like.
“Triggered a lot of expecting mums with this one,” one wrote.
“Because we’re in pain, baby is heavy & pushing down!” another added.
“Because there is literally a bowling ball between my legs,” a third commented.
“It’s a level of discomfort you can’t understand unless you’ve lived it,” someone else insisted.
“The head. The pressure, the swollenness,” another sighed.
“It honestly feels like the head is right at the entrance so you have to walk like that to make it more comfortable,” someone else wrote.
“The last few weeks are a living hell.”
“Ah leave her alone, bless her,” another urged.
“Comedians’ wives must be stressed 24/7,” someone else said.
“As a pregnant woman I AM HOWLING”
However, many of Daniel’s fans found the joke hilarious, with some sharing their own stories of teasing their partners during their pregnancies.
“It’s funny cause it’s true,” one wrote.
“Poor Shelley, she looks so uncomfortable, bless her!”
“Oh my god I was about to get defensive, being a heavily pregnant woman but I’m crying,” another admitted.
“She just needs a tracksuit and some airmax 95’s,” a third laughed.
“This had me in stitches, go on Shelley!” someone else said.
“As a pregnant woman I AM HOWLING,” another commented.
“My partner used to sin ‘and she waddled away, waddle waddle waddle’,” another woman laughed.
