Billy Ray Cyrus Has ‘No Idea How Much He’s Hurting’ His Family

Technical difficulties or personal ones? Billy Ray Cyrus’ performance at President Donald Trump’s January 20 inauguration in Washington, D.C., raised quite a few eyebrows.

“Yo, how drunk is Billy Ray Cyrus?” a viewer asked on X, while another admitted, “I’m mortified and so embarrassed for him. They cut his music? And then took his mic and he refused to leave the stage.”

Two days later, Billy Ray’s eldest son, Trace Cyrus, posted a heart-wrenching plea to the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, 63, on Instagram. “Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now,” he wrote of the father of six. “You may be upset with me for posting this, but I really could care less at this point. You’re not healthy, Dad, and everyone is noticing it.”

Billy Ray’s family wants him in rehab, a source exclusively tells In Touch, but the country music star refuses to recognize that he has a problem.

“Billy Ray seems to have no idea how much he’s hurting everyone by refusing to get help, or how he’s hurting himself,” frets the source.

Even Miley Cyrus, who has reportedly been estranged from her father for years, finds it “upsetting” to see him struggling, claims the source.

“Billy Ray’s just going to keep spiraling unless he finally sees the light — and the hope is that will happen sooner rather than later,” the insider concludes.
