Big Brother’s Tyler Crispen Welcomes Baby No. 1, Reveals Engagement

2025 is already a big year for former Big Brother star Tyler Crispen. The reality TV alum revealed he was engaged and welcomed baby No. 1 in a surprise announcement.
“The best secret of all time,” Tyler, 29, shared via Instagram alongside a carousel of photos on Tuesday, January 14. “Introducing Carter Rae Crispen, born 1/12/25.”
Though he didn’t publicly identify the newborn’s mother by name, he added, “Your mama and I love you more than anything in this world,” before shocking fans by referring to her as his fiancée. In the carousel of photos, a small Polaroid of the new parents could be seen with the label, “Mom & Dad.”
“My fiance (Oh yeah, double surprise) wanna thank all of our close friends & fam for helping us keep this little secret and showering her and us with all the love,” he concluded in the caption. “I am the luckiest guy on the planet. PS. Have you ever seen a harder launch?”
Former Big Brother stars wasted no time in congratulating their fellow alum on the exciting news. Season 25 alum Matt Klotz wrote, “Yoooooo Congrats!!!! This is so awesome bro! I guess we can’t have everything in common ;),” while season 21 star Dani Briones added, “This is the way to launch. That smile on the last pic is too cute. Congrats!!!”
The Big Brother season 20 runner-up spoke about his decision to keep his relationship out of the spotlight earlier this month during an appearance on the “The Exclusive With Sharon Tharp” podcast.
“It’s just something we spoke about early on. If anything it just strengthens the connection because it can be hard for someone that is in the public eye to be with someone that’s not,” he explained. “And I remember how difficult it was for me to be thrust into that at first. It’s crazy to go from hearing opinions about yourself from your friends and family to going on the show, you come out, and you hear opinions being thrown at you 24/7 on a large scale. It’s not easy to deal with.”
Prior to his engagement, Tyler was romantically linked to his Big Brother costar Angela Rummans. After sparking their showmance in 2018, the pair got engaged three years later during a beach getaway.
“You make every day seem like a dream come true and I am now officially the luckiest person on the face of the Earth,” he wrote on Instagram in January 2021. “I’ll love you to infinity and beyond.”
Unfortunately, the pair split by December 2022 after four years together. “I am not a big believer in burning bridges because she was such a big part of my life and I don’t want to have to look back on those memories and have a sour taste in my mouth,” he told Us Weekly about the breakup in September 2023. “She’ll always have a special place with me, and I think she knows that. I think maintaining a friendship with his exes is OK, everybody. It can work out.”
