Biden Team Runs With Deceptive Edit In Latest Trump Attack

President Joe Biden’s rapid response team took a swing at former President Donald Trump, and they used a deceptively edited video of him speaking at a recent rally to do it.

The rapid response team account for Biden-Harris HQ (@BidenHQ) shared the video via X, claiming that the former president had referred to all immigrants as “animals.”

“Trump: ‘Democrats said please don’t call immigrants animals. I said, no, they’re not humans, they’re animals.’”

But as conservative strategist Greg Price was quick to point out, the quote — while accurate — was presented without the context that came immediately before the video clip began: Trump was speaking about a specific illegal immigrant, the man who has been charged in the slaying of college student Laken Riley, at the time.

“The 22-year-old nursing student in Georgia who was barbarically murdered by an illegal alien animal — the Democrats say please don’t call them animals, they’re humans. I said no, they’re not humans, they’re animals,” Trump said. “Nancy Pelosi told me that, she said please don’t use the word animals when you’re talking about these people. I said I’ll use the word animal because that’s what they are.”

Trump had previously butted heads with Pelosi and others on the same issue when, in 2018, he repeatedly referred to MS-13 gang members as “animals.”

“We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we’re stopping a lot of them,” Trump said after Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims complained about California laws barring cooperation between local authorities and federal immigration authorities. “You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals.”

When critics attacked him, claiming that he was painting all immigrants with that label, Trump clarified his remarks:

“MS-13, these are animals coming onto our country. When the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I refer to them as animals. And guess what? I always will.”

Trump has also used the term when speaking about school shooters and terrorists.
