Biden Dragged For Dropping Out With A Letter Instead Of Televised Statement

Conservatives and social media users slammed President Joe Biden for opting to announce the end of his campaign on Sunday through a letter posted on social media instead of a live televised statement.

Biden wrote in a letter that circulated on Sunday afternoon that “while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” The president added that he “will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”

Biden was quickly blasted on social media for informing the country of his decision through a letter instead of a live address to the nation.

“To do this by letter and tweet where we cannot see your face or hear your voice amid all the palace intrigue and after saying for weeks you would not do it is such a failure of leadership and will open up so many conspiracy theories…” Daily Wire Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing posted on X.

Addressing Biden’s announcement in a short video on Sunday, Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said the White House choosing to release a statement on X about the move “demonstrates where things are at.”

“You would figure that he would do a sort of ‘farewell’ press conference,” Shapiro said, adding that Biden’s announcement “leaves open a massive question as to why exactly he is qualified to continue running the country right now, but he is not qualified to continue running for the nomination of the Democratic Party.”

Journalist Jordan Schachtel posted, “They didn’t even snap a photo of Biden signing his resignation letter. They just tweeted it out with a digital signature lol. No video expected until ‘later in the week.’”

“Full clown world. We have no idea if Biden authorized any of this,” Schachtel added.

After announcing the end of his re-election campaign, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place atop the Democratic Party’s ticket. The endorsement, however, does not ensure that Harris will be the nominee, potentially setting up a chaotic Democratic National Convention next month.

Numerous Democrats urged Biden to step aside following his disastrous debate performance against Republcian nominee Donald Trump on June 27.
