Ben Affleck Praises ‘Wonderful’ Jennifer Garner After Flirty Photos

Nothing but love! Ben Affleck gushed over Jennifer Garner in a new interview in which he called his ex-wife “wonderful.”
“I’m really lucky that I have a really good coparent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well,” The Accountant star, 52, told GQ in a profile published on Tuesday, March 25.
The former couple share three kids: Violet, 19, Seraphina “Fin,” 16, and Samuel, 13.
The comments mark Ben’s first public statement about Jennifer, 52, since the duo was photographed at Samuel’s 13th birthday party on March 2. The pair were pictured smiling and laughing, appearing flirty while Ben put his arm around Jen’s waist as the duo played paintball.
The Gone Girl star addressed how his kids deal with speculation about his love life, including his divorce from second ex-wife Jennifer Lopez.
“I know what’s going on in my life. And also, really more importantly, my kids know,” Ben explained. The Oscar winner went on to insist that despite his high-profile split from J. Lo, 55, his “life is actually pretty drama-free.” Elsewhere in the interview, Ben said he has “nothing but respect” for the Atlas star.
Ben and Jen sparked reconciliation rumors following their playful interactions at a Los Angeles paintball park to celebrate their son’s milestone birthday.
A source exclusively told In Touch on March 5, that although rumors the former couple is getting back together are “expected” by Ben and Jen since they spend so much time together, the insider said it’s “not going to happen.”
“Ben has joked with Jen that if he had a time machine and could bring the guy he is today to his marriage to Jen back then, they’d probably still be together,” the source revealed. “But there’s no use in speculating what could have been. They really get along now.”
According to the insider, Jen “isn’t interested in getting back with Ben” and would rather have a “healthy, coparenting relationship.” She’s been dating businessman John Miller since 2018. The couple did briefly split in 2020 but got back together in 2021 and have been going strong ever since.
Ben and Jen married in 2005 after meeting on the set of the 2003 film Daredevil. The former couple split in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018. They’ve remained loving and devoted coparents to their kids and can rely on each other when times get tough.
“It’s no secret that Ben’s relationship with his ex is better than ever. Ben and Jen haven’t had this many laughs or been this comfortable with each other in years,” a separate source exclusively told In Touch on March 5 about the Air actor and the Peppermint star. “It’s like they’re newlyweds again, except it’s nothing like that. They’ve developed a true friendship.”
The insider added, “They not only like each other again, but Jen respects and trusts him with her life. They’ve come a long way and been through a lot.”
After J. Lo filed for divorce in August 2024, Ben spent Thanksgiving with Jen and their kids. He also retreated to her Brentwood, California, home after he was evacuated from his Pacific Palisades mansion in January amid a devastating wildfire.
The fire broke out one day after a Los Angeles Superior Court approved Ben and J. Lo’s divorce settlement on January 6, and it was finalized on February 21.
The duo eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022, three months after getting engaged amid the duo’s whirlwind second go at romance, nearly two decades after they first called it quits.
