Amicable exes! Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez were all three spotted at a school event.
Affleck, 52, Garner, 52, and Lopez, 55, were seen supporting two of their children in a play on December 13, according to photos obtained by TMZ. Garner and Affleck’s child Fin and Lopez’s kid Emme, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, both had parts in their school’s performance. Affleck donned a black suit with a white button down shirt, while Lopez sported a long white coat with a festive red blouse underneath. Garner opted for a black athletic-style jacket and jeans.
Emme’s twin brother, Max, was in attendance, as well, and even had a bouquet of flowers to give his sibling.
While not many details were known regarding how Affleck, Garner and Lopez interacted while cheering on their kids, a source told the outlet that Affleck was seen talking with Emme before he left the event.
The three adults’ attendance came on the heels of an insider telling In Touch that things were tense between Lopez and Garner due to how much time Affleck has been spending with the 13 Going on 30 star.
“On one hand, J. Lo is telling him he should be spending more time with her, because the blended family situation is so new, and it’s vital that they all get off to a good start following the divorce, and just establish a pattern,” the source said on December 10. “Then he has Jen [Garner] pushing him to spend time with her and their kids together.”
The insider continued, “When push comes to shove he’s always going to choose the less stressful route. The fact is he does feel a lot of pressure when he’s with J. Lo there’s no sense of ease for him. He would love to get to that place one day, but he is not there now, and he’s not going to fake it and that has her blaming Jen, not him.”
Affleck and Garner previously spent Thanksgiving together as they passed out food to the homeless community in Los Angeles with the Midnight Mission program on November 28. Their three children, Violet, Fin and Sam, also joined them to help.
“Today, we were honored to have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner join us at The Midnight Mission for Thanksgiving!” the organization wrote via their official Instagram account “Their kindness, warmth, and dedication brought so much joy to our Skid Row community.”
Affleck and Garner were married from 2005 to 2018, but they’ve remained friendly since their split. The Deadpool & Wolverine star stood by Affleck’s side and helped him enter a rehab facility the same year they divorced. Since his split from Lopez in August, a source told In Touch that Affleck’s been “leaning” on Garner “for everything.”
“He’s got his own place but he’s still at her house all the time for family dinners and she never fails to send him home with a care package of food,” the insider revealed. “She’s very concerned about his health, to the point where she reminds him when he needs to see the doctor and the dentist and even sends him vitamins to take because she’s convinced he doesn’t get enough healthy food when she’s not cooking for him. He loves being looked after by her. He goes to her whenever he has a big career or life decision to make for her advice.”
