Anthony Edwards’ ex Ally D. accused the NBA star of never meeting his son Amir despite her efforts for them to connect, and revealed her plans to fight his recently filed paternity lawsuit exclusively to In Touch.
Ally (real name: Alexandria Desroches), along with her New York-based lawyer, Al Hedayati, Esq. of the Hedayati Law Group, P.C., spoke to In Touch about the ongoing battle with the NBA star.
As In Touch first reported, Anthony, 23, first filed a petition against Ally in January 2024. He said they had a son named Amir, born in 2023. He asked the court for joint legal and physical custody, and for child support to be set by the court.
The case was dismissed months later after Anthony failed to serve Ally with the legal paperwork.
In July 2024, Ally publicly claimed she had a son named Amir with Anthony. Anthony has never talked about Ally or Amir publicly.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star filed a new petition against Ally on March 21.
In the new case, he admitted to having a child with Ally. His new petition also asked for child support to be set but did not ask for custody or visitation.
Ally’s lawyer, Mr. Hedayati, who is working alongside his firm’s lawyers Jennifer Burgess and Herbert A. Smith, Jr. on the case, told In Touch said this is a “simple case” about “somebody who has superior financial power attempting to suppress [Ally’s] rights and play games.”
The lawyer accused Anthony of stringing Ally along for years with promises that he never followed through with for the past year and four months.
He said Ally will be fighting Anthony over child support and custody in New York, where she has lived since January 2024.
Ally’s lawyer explained they believe the case should be heard in New York and not Georgia.
Ally told In Touch she met Anthony in 2020 and has a good relationship with some of his family. She said they were never in an exclusive relationship but were romantic.
Ally claimed Anthony has never met Amir despite her attempting to make it happen multiple times. Ally said told Anthony she was pregnant and unsure whether to keep it.
Eventually, she said she decided to have the baby.
She claimed, after finding out about the baby, Anthony told her, “Don’t be messy.”
She explained she took that as keeping the news private and not announcing the child to the world. Ally said she did not tell anyone about the pregnancy or even after she gave birth.
She said she feels the relationship with Anthony changed after he hired a new lawyer. Ally said Anthony cut off contact.
Ally told In Touch that Anthony sent her a one-time payment of $20,000 in November 2023.
She alleged Anthony started voluntarily paying her $5,000 a month towards the care of their child in July 2024.
Ally claimed Anthony increased the amount to $7,200 for three payments made from January to March to help with child care, but then lowered it back to $5,000 for April.
On top of that, she admitted receiving money for Christmas from Anthony in 2023, but not in 2024.
Ally’s lawyer said they believed Anthony should be paying “substantially more” than the $5,000 a month for the care of their child.
Ally explained she decided to speak out to clear up the misinformation and misconceptions about her spreading online. She said she doesn’t want a bad relationship with Anthony and hopes that he will have a relationship with Amir.
Ally and her lawyers explain she is not looking to live off an athlete’s money.
Ally told us she has plans to go back to school and has a job. “I don’t want to live off Anthony,” she told In Touch.
Her attorney Mr. Hedayati told In Touch, “She is raising a child as a single mother and has an open-door policy for [Anthony] to see the child.” Ally and her legal team said they hope Anthony will reach a resolution with them quickly but are ready to fight him in court.
As In Touch first reported, Anthony scored a huge win in his ongoing battle with his other ex, Ayesha Howard, over their daughter, Aubri Summers Howard.
The two filed separate paternity lawsuits. Ayesha filed her case in California, and Anthony filed his in Georgia.
Last month, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge sided with Anthony when he ruled that child support will be set in Georgia, despite Ayesha asking for it to be set in California.
Anthony told the court he will not be seeking custody or visitation with the child.
Recently, Ayesha pleaded with the Georgia judge to award her temporary child support. A judge has yet to rule.
